Sharon’s Sessions at Plumpton Marketplace

Sharon Coote has attended every one of her five sessions at HomeCo Plumpton Marketplace with a clear purpose: getting her Mac working properly. What started with a password change quickly revealed deeper issues, and across consecutive weeks her Youngsters worked through a full macOS reinstall from scratch, disk erasure, Gmail account recovery, and setting up fingerprint authentication for two-factor login. Every single problem got solved, and Sharon has rated each session five out of five.

The consistency of the support has mattered as much as the technical fixes. Working largely with Youngster Maria del Carmen Landin Ledesma across multiple visits, Sharon has been able to pick up where she left off each time — a continuity that made the more complex work, like rebuilding her MacBook’s operating system from the ground up, genuinely manageable rather than overwhelming. More recently the sessions have branched into everyday practical skills, including navigating TV streaming services and pairing a mobile hotspot.

Sharon hasn’t just received help — she’s offered something back. The advice she’s passed to her Youngsters over the sessions has a quiet coherence to it: be passionate with your life, enjoy the process while you’re learning, make better decisions, learn while you can. Coming from someone who has turned up week after week to tackle technology that wasn’t working for her, those words carry some weight.
